inMMGroup does not begin with a predetermined package or a list of deliverables.
We begin with the decision, transition, or institutional condition leadership must address. The scope follows the level of consequence, the number of stakeholders involved, the clarity of the problem, and what must be different when the work is complete.
Our engagements are designed for leaders and institutions whose decisions affect outcomes beyond one individual. The work requires direct access, honest examination, strategic discretion, and a willingness to act on what the engagement reveals.

Three Ways We Engage
Diagnostic Assessment
For consequential conditions that have not yet been sufficiently defined.
A leader may recognize recurring friction, stalled execution, inconsistent interpretations, or growing risk without yet knowing whether the cause is strategic, structural, relational, operational, or reputational.
A diagnostic assessment may include:
- Executive discovery
- Review of relevant documents and targeted stakeholder input
- Analysis of decision, alignment, authority, and reputation risks
- A written findings brief and executive debrief
The objective is to establish what is actually happening, why it matters, and whether the condition requires a larger advisory engagement.
Strategic Advisory Engagement
For a defined decision, transition, positioning mandate, or institutional alignment need.
This work is structured around a specific leadership or institutional outcome. It may address strategic priorities, market or public positioning, governance, decision rights, stakeholder alignment, executive communication, or implementation risk.
An engagement may include:
- Executive and stakeholder discovery
- Research, document review, and strategic recommendations
- Positioning and narrative development
- Governance or decision-right clarification
- Executive or stakeholder alignment sessions
- Implementation priorities, accountability measures, and a defined review period
The objective is not simply to produce a plan. It is to create enough coherence for leadership and the institution to understand, support, and carry the decision forward.
Ongoing Strategic Advisory
For leaders and institutions carrying continuing complexity or a sequence of interdependent decisions.
Some conditions cannot be responsibly addressed through a single assessment or defined engagement. Growth, transition, public responsibility, institutional change, or market entry may require continuing access to independent judgment as conditions evolve.
Ongoing advisory may include:
- Scheduled executive advisory sessions
- Preparation for consequential decisions and review of emerging risks
- Strategic review of plans, proposals, communications, and stakeholder responses
- Support before significant meetings or public moments
- Decision follow-through and accountability review
The objective is continuity of judgment. Leadership gains a trusted advisory perspective without transferring its authority or responsibility for the final decision.
Not every client requires all three forms of engagement. Some begin with diagnosis. Others arrive with a clearly defined mandate. Ongoing advisory is considered when the conditions and working relationship justify continued involvement.
How the Process Works
1. Written Engagement Briefing
The process begins with a concise written briefing identifying:
- The decision or condition requiring attention
- Why it matters now
- Who or what is affected
- What leadership has already attempted
- What becomes more difficult, expensive, or exposed if the condition remains unresolved
The briefing allows inMMGroup to evaluate the substance of the need before scheduling a conversation.
2. Qualification Review
The briefing is reviewed for alignment across five areas:
- Consequence: The significance of the decision or unresolved condition
- Authority: Access to the leader or governing body responsible for the outcome
- Readiness: Willingness to examine the condition honestly and act on the findings
- Scope: Whether the need falls within inMMGroup’s advisory territory
- Timing: Why the matter requires attention now
This review is not a judgment of the leader or institution. It determines whether inMMGroup is the appropriate advisory partner and whether the conditions required for meaningful work are present.
3. Private Executive Conversation
When sufficient alignment exists, a private conversation is scheduled with the responsible leader or executive sponsor.
The conversation clarifies the condition, decision authority, relevant stakeholders, intended outcome, timing, and procurement path. Its purpose is to determine fit and scope. It is not an open-ended consultation or a substitute for paid diagnostic work.
4. Recommendation, Authorization, and Launch
If inMMGroup can responsibly address the condition, leadership receives a recommended engagement path.
The recommendation identifies the question or condition the work will address, proposed scope and sequence, required participation, deliverables, timing, professional fees, payment terms, and engagement conditions.
For institutional clients, the recommendation can be structured to support internal approvals, procurement requirements, and contracting procedures.
Work begins after the scope, authority, contracting requirements, and payment arrangements have been confirmed.
The engagement opens with a formal orientation establishing access, communication protocols, responsibilities, confidentiality boundaries, and the evidence that will be used to assess progress.
Findings are presented to the leaders responsible for acting on them. When implementation support is included, inMMGroup remains involved through the agreed review period to evaluate movement, identify new risks, and help leadership protect coherence as the decision moves into action.
What the Work Requires From Leadership
The quality of the engagement depends on more than the quality of the advisor. It also depends on the conditions leadership creates for the work.
Meaningful engagement requires:
- Access to the leaders responsible for the decision
- Timely access to relevant information and documents
- Candid participation from selected stakeholders
- A clearly identified executive sponsor and respect for confidentiality
- Willingness to consider findings that may challenge the prevailing explanation
- Capacity to act when the work identifies a necessary decision
Without these conditions, even accurate recommendations are unlikely to produce meaningful institutional movement.
What Clients Can Expect From inMMGroup
Clients can expect:
- Independent judgment rather than automatic agreement
- Direct, disciplined communication
- Strategic discretion and respect for sensitive information
- Recommendations connected to actual organizational conditions
- Clear distinctions among confirmed findings, emerging signals, and unresolved questions
- Executive-ready deliverables and candor about what inMMGroup can responsibly address
Our role is to make consequential conditions clearer, not more comfortable.
What We Are Not Retained to Do
inMMGroup is not a general marketing vendor or a source of high-volume tactical production.
We are not typically retained for isolated campaign execution, routine content production, a cosmetic brand refresh, or visibility without a larger strategic mandate. When communications, public relations, marketing, or market activation form part of an engagement, they support a broader decision, positioning, or institutional objective.
We are also unlikely to be the right fit when leadership primarily wants validation of a predetermined answer, cannot provide access to the responsible decision-maker, or intends to select solely on the lowest available price.
Formal procurement, competitive review, and responsible financial comparison are compatible with our work. The distinction is whether the institution is evaluating the judgment and outcome required, or purchasing tactical volume as a commodity.
Confidentiality and Evidence
Many engagements involve sensitive leadership, organizational, financial, or reputational information. Confidentiality boundaries are established before substantive work begins.
Where appropriate, the engagement defines what information may be shared, how stakeholder input will be handled, which findings remain restricted, what outcomes may be documented, and whether the institution may be identified publicly or through anonymized evidence.
Discretion does not eliminate accountability. It determines how evidence is responsibly captured, protected, and used.
Professional Fees
Fees are determined by the complexity of the condition, the level of consequence, stakeholder involvement, research and delivery requirements, duration, and the degree of access required.
inMMGroup does not price advisory work by the volume of meetings or pages produced. The written recommendation defines the scope, professional fees, payment schedule, milestones, and conditions for changes in scope before work begins.
Next Step
Begin With the Condition, Not the Solution
If you are carrying a decision, transition, or unresolved condition with consequences beyond one individual, submit a concise written engagement briefing for review.
You do not need to diagnose the problem before submitting. You should be able to identify what is happening, why it matters now, and what is at risk if it remains unresolved.
