Creating a strong business and building a better world are not conflicting goals – they are both essential ingredients for long-term success

— Bill Ford

World Thinking Day is a day of international celebration that occurs annually on February 22nd. It was created by the Girl Scouts of America as a special day to focus on the importance of thinking globally and taking action locally to make the world a better place.

For 2023, the World Thinking Day theme is “Our World, Our Peaceful Future: The environment, peace, and security.” This theme focuses on ways we can make the world a better place through initiatives that enhance the environment, peace, and security in the world.

As business owners, we all have corporate social responsibility (CSR). This is the idea that businesses and corporations have a responsibility to contribute to the greater good of society beyond their economic goals.

Use World Thinking Day as an igniter to examine the social, economic, and environmental impact of your organization’s activities and incorporate those impacts into your decision-making processes.

Turning those impacts into actions might look like implementing sustainable practices, supporting local communities, promoting diversity and inclusion, or ensuring ethical business practices. They can also involve philanthropic initiatives, such as donating to charitable causes or sponsoring social and environmental initiatives.

More and more consumers and stakeholders are using an organization’s CSR initiatives as a determining factor on if they want to do business with that organization or not. In fact, 70%  of Americans believe it’s either “somewhat” or “very important” for companies to make the world a better place according to a CSR survey by AFLAC. They want to support organizations that are responsible, socially aware, and striving to make an impact. They want to know that your business goals and strategies are not solely focused on profitability for your organization but also the greater good of society.

At inMMGroup, we pride ourselves on putting the needs of our clients and the greater good of society above our own profit and creating marketing campaigns that are ethical, honest, and have a positive impact on the world. Let’s start a conversation
